Mr. Allan Brik is the founding member of BRIK Asset Management, a boutique investment firm formed in May 2009 with a focus on Brazilian investments.

Mr. Brik has 18 years of experience in the financial markets. Before the formation of BRIK Asset Management, he was a Managing Director and partner of Arden Asset Management, an investment firm with USD 9 billion under management.

Mr. Brik joined Arden in 2003 as the Head of Quantitative Research and a member of the Investment Committee. His overall responsibilities included portfolio construction and risk management. During his 6 year tenure, Mr. Brik also helped grow the various businesses of the firm.

During 2002, Mr. Brik worked at Synthesis, the NY-based family office formed by the main shareholders of AB-INBEV (NYSE:BUD). Prior to Synthesis, he worked at Goldman Sachs’ Fixed Income Currencies and Commodities Division, from 1998 to 2001, where he was responsible for trading and sales to Latin American institutional clients. During this phase of his career he developed numerous contacts in the private and public sectors in Brazil.

Early in his career, from 1993 to 1998, Mr. Brik traded/risk managed fixed income derivatives at Merrill Lynch in New York.

Mr. Brik holds a Ph.D. in Computer Aided Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. In Rio, he was also a researcher for CENPES, Petrobras’ R&D branch, where he helped design new technology for offshore oil rigs.

Mr. Brik is a Brazilian native, having lived in the US for the past 21 years. Over the years he has successfully invested in Brazil.
